Holder of Chair No. 15 at the Academia Carioca de Direito, she is a Professor in the Graduate Program at the Faculty of Law of the State University of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ), having ranked first in a competitive examination based on written exams and academic credentials, and is an attorney specialized in Electoral Law. She completed postdoctoral studies in Constitutional Law at the University of Santiago de Compostela, Spain, and at PUC-Rio. She holds a Ph.D. in Constitutional Law from PUC-SP and a Master’s degree in General Theory of the State and Constitutional Law from PUC-Rio. She also earned an MBA – Master in Lobbying, Corruption and Public Ethics from Unitelma Sapienza University of Rome. She specialized in Electoral Law at CEPED-UERJ and obtained her LL.B. degree from UERJ.
She serves as Coordinator of Constitutional Law at IBEROJUR. She was a Visiting Researcher at the University of Santiago de Compostela, Spain (2018), a Visiting Scholar at Università Unitelma Sapienza in Rome, Italy (2018–2019), and at the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (2021), where she conducted research under an ERASMUS scholarship. She is a Full Member of the Rio de Janeiro State Bar Association Council (OAB-RJ).
Professor Aieta has published numerous articles in Brazil and abroad and acts as a legal opinion writer and lecturer. She has presented academic papers in Santiago de Compostela and Las Palmas (Spain); Texas (USA); Buenos Aires (Argentina); Coimbra, Barcelos, and Porto (Portugal); Havana (Cuba); Santiago (Chile); Bogotá (Colombia); Lima (Peru); Warsaw (Poland); Bucharest (Romania); and Rome, Bologna, Florence, Milan, Parma, Padua, Naples, and Abruzzo (Italy).
In addition to serving as Editor-in-Chief of the ABRADEP Journal and the BALLOT Journal (UERJ), she is a member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of the Presidency of the Republic, the Journal of the Court of Justice of the State of Rio de Janeiro, and publishing houses and journals such as Lumen Juris, Pembroke Collins, Revista Ibérica do Direito, Revista Estudos Eleitorais (TSE), and Paraná Eleitoral, for which she also serves as peer reviewer. She is also a reviewer for the Spanish journal Cadernos de Dereito Actual and the Revista Resenha Eleitoral (TRE-SC), as well as for the Revista de Informação Legislativa of the Brazilian Federal Senate and the Revista Estudos Eleitorais of the Superior Electoral Court (TSE). She is a member of the Editorial Board of the Revista Ibérica do Direito (IBEROJUR), the Scientific Journal of CPJM, and the Executive Council of the Revista de Direito da Cidade (UERJ).
She is a founding member of ABRADEP (Academy of Electoral and Political Law), where she served as General Coordinator (2023–2025), as well as of the Institute of Brazilian Lawyers (IAB), the Brazilian Institute of Electoral Law (IBRADE), and the Brazilian Institute of Constitutional Law (IBDC).
She also performs volunteer work with the social initiatives of Her Majesty Queen Silvia of Sweden, collaborating with the NGO Childhood Brasil and the Queen Silvia Shelter.
